Agency of Intellectual Property INTELS was founded 15 years ago, in 1988, in then USSR.

 

It was turbulent time of the country’s transition from socialism to market relations when a radically-changing economy required a new  approach to IP protection.  INTELS became the first private IP firm in then USSR.   Established to meet the new challenges,  INTELS has constantly been in the forefront of the changes in IP legislation and practice.   

 

In the early 1990s, after the breakout of the USSR and emergence of 15 new countries, INTELS opened its branch offices there and significantly contributed to training qualified practitioners in the new jurisdictions.        

 

Today INTELS is among the leading advisors on intellectual property matters in the region. It provides a wide range of services in all ex-USSR countries and a number of countries of Eastern Europe. 

  

INTELS employs highly-qualified professionals in the intellectual property area, many of whom had an extensive previous experience as examiners of the State Patent and Trademark Office.  The experience acquired during all the years of service along with constant training of the stuff enable our firm to meet the needs of our clients from almost all countries of the world.  Today we represent many leading brand owners and their licensees.

 

Members of INTELS are active in the area of IP legislation reforms in the region.   Many our professionals are members of the Russian Association of Patent Attorneys, President of INTELS, Valeri Guerman, serving the President of this Association. We are also members of international IP organizations such as INTA, AIPPI, LES.
